Born in Toronto, Silvija Saplys is a versatile artist with a rich educational background.  Having studied at the University of Toronto, Ryerson University and the Ontario College of Art, she culminated her studies in to a fine arts degree from the Toronto School of Art.  Working in a variety of mediums, Silvija creates both paintings and installations that reflect the beauty of everyday life.  Inspired by the complex ties of human relationships, nature and the tranquility of the woods, she finds solace and creative energy in the forests- one of her favourite places to explore and reflect.  With a passion for painting that opens up a myriad of possibilities, Silvija has held three solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group shows.  For her, painting is not just an artistic endeavour; it is a source of vitality and a means of expressing the profound connection between self and environment.  Silvija continues to explore the intersection of personal experience and the natural world, inviting viewers to share in the journey of discovery and reflection.
